Smackin Acetate

Smackin' Acetate Technique

  • Spitzer or Spray Bottle
  • Water-based Marker
  • Cardstock
  • Acetate or a window Sheet

Step One
  • Scribble marker directly onto the Window Sheet/Acetate
  • Add the colors you want, trying not to overlap colors
  • Colors may look light with some of the basic white c/s showing
  • Marker colors are: Polished Pink, Soft Succulent, and Bumble Bee

Step Two
  • Spritz or spray water on the window sheet/acetate
  • This will moisten and mix the colors

Step Three
  • Smack cardstock onto the wet window sheet/acetate

Step Four
  • Lift the cardstock off the window sheet/acetate

Step Five
  • Let the cardstock dry thoroughly and assemble your card

Here is what you need to put your card together

  • 4 1/4" x 11" Basic White scored at 5 1/2
  •  4" x 5 1/4" Soft Succulence
  • Basic White scraps
  • Taylor Made Tag(#2 of 45 degree tags with #1 being the smallest
  • Penned Flower (Cut 2)
Stamp Set:
  • Artistically Inked (Thanks sentiment)
  • Memento
  • Polished Pink
  • Blending Brushes
  • Tombo Glue
  • Pale Papaya Ribbon
  • Matte Black Dots
  • Dimensionals
Putting the card together:
  • Take out your Stampin Emboss & Cut machine.  Die cut the two flower and the tag in Basic White c/s
  • Stamp THANKS on the tag in Memento ink
  • Take a blending brush and brush the edges of tag in Polished Pink
  • Cut about 8" of ribbon.  Threadn both ends through the tag and loop it through the ribbon.   Add 6-8 dimensionals to the back of the tag
  • Adhere Soft Succulent to the basic white base, then add your dried Smackin Acetate to the top
  • Add Tombo liquid glue to the flowers.  (Use a light touch on this glue)
  • Position and adhere flowers to the center of card
  • Adhere the tag in the center of both flowers
  • Add 3 Matted Black Dots to the card
  • Viola - card complete!
Here is a couple of other cards done with this Technique

Fancy Fold Card Tutorial Times 2

Fancy Fold Card (vertical or horizontal)

This is an easy fold that makes a card look beautiful.   You can use this fold for all occasions.   The best part of this card is you can use it as a vertical card or horizontal.  We will be making two cards so please cut two of everything.

Basic White Thick c/s
Petal Pink
Peony Garden DSP
Prize Peony Bundle
Stampin Cut & Emboss Machine
Memento Ink
Petal Pink ink
Old Olive Ink
Basic Gray
Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon
Paper Trimmer
Stampin Blends (Rococo Rose, Petal Pink, Old Olive)
Stampin Seal
Bone Folder
Glue Dot
Wink of Stella
Basic Rhinestone Jewels
Tombow liquid glue

Let’s get started!

Cutting Cardstock Measurements (cut TWO of everything)
Basic White Thick
• 4 ¼” x 11” Score at 5 1/2”, cut off 2 ¾” on the front flap
• 2 ¾” x 4 ¼” (Focal flap)
• 3” x 4 ½” (inside the card for greeting)
Petal Pink
• 2 5/8” x 4 1/8” (Outside Flap)
• 3” x 4 ½” (Focal Flap)
Peony Garden DSP (I used two different colors of DSP)
• 2 ½” x 4”
• 4” x 5 ¼”
Old Olive c/s
• Scrap for leaves
Rococo Rose c/s
• Small scrap piece for Peony top

Stamp the big Peony on Basic White c/s in Memento ink
Stamp 6 leaves on Old Olive c/s in Old Olive Ink

Peony Die Cuts
• Cut out the Big Peony in Prized Peony Stamp Set
• Take a piece of scrap Petal Pink and cut the four pieces to the Peony
• Cut out the 6 leaves

Horizontal Card:
• Put the card together
o Put the big piece of DSP inside the card
o On the Flap – Layer the small Petal pink c/s and small DSP
• Color the Big Peony with your Stampin Blends.   Center the flower on the small Basic White c/s.  Stamp your sentiments in Basic Gray ink.  Add Dimensionals to your Peony.
• Layer that on the Pink c/s
• Center and adhere the top part of the c/s to the flap.   I left out a ½” at both ends.
• Adhered Basic White c/s (that goes inside the card). Line the unglued side to the flap with the peony and sentiment.   Close the flap, the Basic White c/s will now be lined up with the Horizontal flap
• Add Wink of Stella to your Peony
• Tie a bow with your ribbon and adhere it to your Flower stem with a glue dot
• Add three rhinestones in the corner
• Viola – you are done!

Vertical Card:

• Put the card together
o Put the big piece of DSP inside the card
o On the Flap – Layer the small Petal pink c/s and small DSP
• Take your dauber and petal pink ink and brush the edges of all 4 flower pieces.
• Put the 4 Peony pieces together starting with the small flower.   I do this by putting the smaller flower into the next bigger template.   Remember to line the curves up at the bottom.  Add some Tombow glue…just a small amount!    Continue to build the Peony.  Adhere to leaves to the flower with glue dots.  (TIP – Put glue dots on the front of the leaves to stick to the back of the Peony.)
• Stamp your sentiments in Basic Gray ink towards the end of the c/s.
• Add Dimensionals to your Peony.
• Center the flower towards the top of c/s.
• Add Ribbon below the flower.
• Layer the c/s on Petal Pink c/s
• Center and adhere the top part of the c/s to the flap.   I left out a ½” at both ends.
• I adhered to the back of the Basic White c/s (that goes inside the card)
• Line the unglued side to the flap with the peony and sentiment.   Close the flap, the Basic White will now be lined up with the Horizontal flap
• Add Wink of Stella around the outside of the flower
• Add three rhinestones to help enhance your flower
• Viola – you are done!

You created two cards with the same fancy fold, and they look different.

Thank you for stopping by today!
