Potted Succulents

by ktstamps, 4:15 PM

This is a wonderful Stamp Set with lots of variations to create beautiful cards.  It can be ink on cardstock or you can use the die-cut to make any card design look real.

These are the supplies you need to put this card together.

Stamp Bundle: 165264 Simply Succulent Bundle
Cardstock: 159276 Basic White 5 ½ x 8 ½, 4 ¼ x 5 ½, larger scrap Old Olive Scrap
Accessories: 132708 Tuxedo Black Memento
Stampin Blends: 154892 Old Olive, 154879 Cajun Craze, 154885 Granny Apple Green,
1154898 Rich Razzleberry, 154902 Soft Seafoam, 144608 Color Lifter
110755 Multi-Purpose Adhesive, 144108 Mini Dimensionals

Here are the instructions on how to create this card.

1) Fold 5 ½ x 8 ½ Basic White in half, this is your base.

2) Punch out Background Succulent Plate form 4 ¼ x 5 ½ Basic White, making sure it is centered.
a. You will need to finish pushing out the pieces that were cut out of this background.
b. Once completely free of extra pieces, turn over and CAREFULLY apply a THIN line of liquid adhesive around the outside edges.
c. Carefully line it up with the front of your card base and attach.
d. Set aside to dry.

3) Stamp the large bunch of succulents and pot on the Basic White scrap paper using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

4) I started with the small hanging succulents first coloring them in with Dark Seafoam Stampin Blends.

5) Next I outlined a few large succulents (see pictures) petals with Dark Old Olive.
a. ALWAYS start with the darker colors. Only do a few at a time as the blends dry and won’t blend in very well.
b. Now you will go over those petals with the Light Old Olive. When I do this l like to use the “pen” end and color in a soft circular motion. After all, petals are colored with the Old Olive add a little Light Rich Razzleberry to the tips. To blend go over with Light Old Olive again.

6) Finish the rest using Granny Apple Green Stampin Blends. Again start with the Dark first, then go to the light.

7) To color the pot I outlined with Dark Cajun Craze, then blended with Light Cajun Craze.
a. To get the lighter in the middle I used the color lifter (this is a GAME CHANGER a must-have!). I just “colored” until I was happy with the fading for the pot.

8) Punch out Large Succulents and pot.
a. Punch out 2 aloe plants from Old Olive scrap.

9) Lay down for desired placement.
a. Adhere Aloe plants and Pot directly to the card base.
b. Add mini dimensionals to the large succulent plant to pop it up.
c. Attach to the card base.

Butterfly Beauty Video

by ktstamps, 9:53 AM
Here is a very easy video I created with Butterfly Beauty dies.   I wanted to share with you how to make a card without having to stamp it.  The card was created with my favorite colors and I love the layered look this card gives you.   I stamped a sentiment on the inside with the Beauty Abounds Stamp set.   I used Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, and Purple Posy ink.   (I know Purple Posy ink isn't available but I loved the look of these colors on the inside of the card and envelope.).

Below is the card we are creating in the video.

Here are the other cards I created with this same technique.

I hope you have enjoyed today's video.
